Background

Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre is the largest pool complex built in Sydney since the development of Sydney Olympic Park for the 2000 Olympics.

Role and Key outcomes delivered by DB Consulting

  • Supported the development of an exemplary leisure centre management contract aligned with the Council’s long-term strategic plans

  • Supported the transition from construction to operational status with Council’s appointed operator Belgravia Leisure

  • Developed the contract specification and management agreement

  • Consulted with key stakeholders in Council and externally

  • Consulted with key industry bodies across Australia and England

  • Ensure the KPI’s and performance framework capture social outcomes, not just attendances

  • Put in place robust mechanisms for governance and compliance

  • Developed exemplar standards and monitoring for access and inclusion

  • Led the successful transition from Council to operator Belgravia Leisure
